About QSBS Longarm Machine Quilting Service

This is on the wall in my studio and has become my branding/logo.

Why Choose Me?

My focus is to provide a machine quilting service that is based on quality, creativity, trust and care for the fabric artwork you have created. It is important to me that when your quilt is returned to you, the quilting makes you smile because it is aesthetically pleasing as well as complementary to your quilt.

My mission is to provide high-quality machine quilting which is inspired by the customer's

quilt creation and to bring the story behind each quilt top to life.

A little background...

I am excited to be on this adventure and hope to be the quilting artist you choose to meet your machine quilting needs. I began sewing when I was in the 5th grade (oh, so long ago) when I was a member of a local 4-H. Even back then, I enjoyed creating something unique with my own hands. After high school, I continued to make my own clothes because I didn't like the idea of wearing the same clothes as other people. I never did mind standing out from the crowd a little bit (I am a Gemini, after all). I dabbled in crocheting and knitting with my Mom but continued to enjoy creating projects on a sewing machine. I had been considering retiring from a standard 9-5 job when I attended a quilt show in Davenport, IA. I happened to walk by a woman who was operating a long-arm machine and I was like a kid with a new toy as I watched her experiment with patterns that she had not yet used. I was enticed by the idea of creating different quilt stitching (quilting) and set off to form a plan to purchase a long-arm quilting machine. Now, here I am. Hoping to be the longarmer you choose to meet your machine quilting needs for the quilt you have lovingly created.

Who Am I?

 Tidbits about me:

  • My longarm machine quilting service/business is located in Iowa and I use computerized quilting to help complete your quilting projects.
  • I served in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic and worked on the TF-30 engine, which at the time, was the engine in the F-14 (like the aircraft in Top Gun) and the UH-1N Huey helicopter.
  • Served in law enforcement.
  • Earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration w/ a 2nd focus in Management.
  • Our pets keep life fun. Ruff. Meow.
  • My husband and I have been married for 30 years (but who's counting?). He is the rudder to my boat. Poor guy, wink.
  • I am inspired by nature.
  • I am a goofball. Life is too short to be so serious all the time.
  • I consider this to be a well-rounded life experience (so far), so I'm off to the next stage of this journey.

Looking forward to meeting many interesting quilters and to be a part of your quilt and art work.
